Defence Minister Tasks Security Agencies on Intelligence Sharing, Cybercrime Response

Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has called on the country’s security agencies to strengthen intelligence-sharing mechanisms and operational collaboration in order to tackle the growing threats of terrorism, armed robbery, and cybercrime.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Safwan Sani Imam, the Minister made the call at the annual conference of the Chief of Defence Intelligence, held in Abuja. He commended the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) for what he described as notable progress in intelligence gathering and cyber-security operations.

Badaru emphasized the importance of timely information exchange, enhanced regional cooperation, and continuous training for security personnel. He added that the Tinubu administration remains committed to supporting innovative strategies aimed at improving national security under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
